Handcrafted from a single piece of bamboo, the Chasen has 100 expertly cut prongs, which are curled at the tips. The Matcha Life logo is engraved into the bamboo, as our mark of quality.
The Chasen is used to mix the matcha powder and water, creating a perfectly frothy and smooth Matcha.
The Chasen has been used in the traditional Japanese tea ceremony for over 600 years. To this day, we still use the same simple but highly skilled methods to handcraft these Chasens. The work involved in making the Chasen is so intricate that only a few Chasens can be made per day.
This is a beautiful reminder of the pure and simplistic nature of Matcha tea.

How to use the Chasen:
Add the Matcha powder to hot water (80 degrees). Then use the Chasen to vigorously whisk the Matcha in an “M” pattern for 15-20 seconds, or until the powder is fully mixed and you have a layer of froth
